Henry S. Long, III
Associate
Henry is an associate in the firm’s Business & Tax Practice Group, focusing on tax and estate planning matters. A Birmingham native, he joined Johnston Barton in 2009. He is a graduate of the New York University School of Law (LL.M. in Taxation, 2009), the University of Alabama School of Law (J.D., cum laude, 2008), and the University of Virginia’s McIntire School of Commerce (B.S. in Commerce, 2005).
During law school Henry was a member of the Alabama Law Review, serving on its Managing Board as an Articles Editor in his third year. His student note appears in Volume 59 of that publication. He received the University of Alabama Federal Tax Clinic Scholarship for the 2007-2008 academic year, as well as the Coale, Dukes, Kirkpatrick & Crowley award for excellence in estate planning. Additionally, he was a member of the Bench & Bar Legal Honor Society.
Henry is a member of the Alabama State Bar. In his free time he enjoys traveling, discovering good films (old and new), following the Alabama Crimson Tide, and reading.
